BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WUPW) — Democrat Angela Zimmann, the challenger to U.S. Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green), officially kicked off her campaign on Thursday.
Zimmann is hoping to unseat Latta for Ohio's 5th Congressional seat in Washington, D.C., in the November general election.

A BGSU professor, Zimmann said she is running for people she says need accountability, representation and service. Some of her focus areas would be job creation and debt reduction, while trying to work with everyone.
"I believe in collaboration and cooperation across partisan lines is
much of what we need," she said. "Right now we're in this situation with partisan gridlock, where nothing can be accomplished because people are interested in serving their parties. I'm interested in serving the people of Northwest Ohio. I believe I can accomplish quite a lot."
Zimmann adds that while federal debt reduction is key, she'd like to make
sure people are working on personal debt reduction as well.
Ohio's primary is March 6.
