DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Voters in Washington Township signed off on levy to increase funding to the fire department. The new levy will generate about $7.7 million and fund two-thirds of the departmentâ€™s operating expenses.
The levy will help offset reduction in state funding and a a decrease in property tax revenue.
Meanwhile, voters in Miami Township approved the townshipâ€™s share of operating costs for the new Miami Valley Fire District which services both the township and the City of Miamisburg.
The 3.5 mill levy will raise about $2.1 million for the fire district.
