Mont. Co. Fire levies soundly approved

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Voters in Washington Township signed off on levy to increase funding to the fire department. The new levy will generate about $7.7 million and fund two-thirds of the department’s operating expenses.

The levy will help offset reduction in state funding and a a decrease in property tax revenue.

Meanwhile, voters in Miami Township approved the township’s share of operating costs for the new Miami Valley Fire District which services both the township and the City of Miamisburg.

The 3.5 mill levy will raise about $2.1 million for the fire district.
